Savory granola

This smoky, nutritious, gluten and nut free savory granola is a total game changer! All you need is a bowl, a few simple ingredients, some spices and you are all set!

Sprinkle it over salads, soups, roasted vegetables, hummus or simply eat as a snack.
You’ll be surprised to see how easy it is to prepare!

How to make savory granola

Sweet or savory, making granola is easy! All you need is one bowl, a baking sheet, and a few simple ingredients. The best part is that you can customize it any way you like.
In this batch I used pumpkin, hemp, sunflower, sesame, cumin and coriander seeds, oats, tahini paste, maple syrup, chili, smoked paprika and a little salt [ see the exact measurements and recipe below ].
You can add any of your favorite seeds, nuts and spices. If you give it a try let me know what ingredients you used.
Just mix all the ingredients in a bowl, pour onto a lined baking tray, and roast it in the oven, for 15 – 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Let cool completely, and store in a glass jar until ready to use. That’s it!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup pumpkin seeds
  • ¼ cup sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup gluten free oats
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp agave or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp tahini paste
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp chili flakes optional or to taste

Instructions

  • In the mixing bowl combine all the wet ingredients : water, oil, tahini paste and syrup
  • Add all of the dry ingredients to the bowl and stir well to combine
  • Transfer the mixture into the bake sheet lined with baking paper and flatten in an even layer
  • Bake the savory granola for 20 minutes, checking and stirring it after 10 minutes so it bakes evenly and remember, every oven is different!
    You'll know it's ready when golden brown and crispy.
  • Let it cool completely and transfer into a clean jar.
    Store for up to a month.
