Ossobuco in rich tomato sauce.

Today’s recipe is my absolute go to when cooking Ossobuco! Uncomplicated but an exquisite dish. It’s super easy, delicious and everyone raves about it every time I make it !!!
Ossobuco is one of the Italian dishes that’s a great example of  “piatto unico,” meaning a dish that is a whole meal on its own. You can enjoy this amazing stew in countless trattorias throughout Milan and the whole Lombardy region.

Veal shanks are common, relatively cheap and very flavorful. Although tough, slow cooking makes them tender enough to fall off the bone.

Can’t find veal shanks? Try beef, pork or lamb instead!

Dairy free, vegan pumpkin and turmeric soup.

simple-pumpkin-soup

There’s nothing better than a big bowl of creamy pumpkin soup on a cold , rainy day!
The secret to extra flavor in my recipe is turmeric. Trust me it makes all the difference!

Turmeric is not only delicious but also one of the most effective nutritional supplements in existence. Researchers have been studying curcumin as a beneficial herb in cancer treatment. It can affect cancer growth, development and spread at the molecular level.

Studies have shown that it can reduce a growth of new blood vessels in tumors, cancer spreading, as well as be contributing to the death of cancerous cells.

Coconut milk kefir.

coconut-kefir

Many avoid dairy these days unless it is fermented due to issues with lactose intolerance. Fermented milk products are easier to digest and offer increased bioavailability of nutrients such as calcium and magnesium. For those who wish to reduce or avoid dairy, or who would like a tasty change from dairy milk kefir, coconut milk kefir is a great alternative.
This option uses kefir grains and coconut milk.
